Cayley's Glider

 Based on Sir George Cayley's 1853 glider, and a modern remake of same in 2003.

"A replica of the 1853 machine was flown at the original site in Brompton Dale by Derek Piggott in 1973 for TV and in the mid-1980s[for the IMAX film On the Wing. The glider is currently on display at the Yorkshire Air Museum.

A second replica of the Cayley Glider was built in 2003 by a team from BAE Systems to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the original flight. Built using modern materials and techniques, the craft was test flown by Alan McWhirter at RAF Pocklington, before being flown by Sir Richard Branson (the cut-out pilot in the photos) on 5 July 2003 at Brompton Dale, the site of the original glider’s flight."

Happy Ray

The prior project generated some extra manta-ray ideas, which wound up on this one. Four turkey bones, deodorant stick, krazy-glue nozzles, probiotic vials, plush-toy eyes, disposable spoon, wooden dowel, binder clip, Mylar wing.

Turkey Ray

Airskiff

 I liked the gondola-boat on the previous dirigible idea, and decided to make a larger version as the starting point for this project. The figures are 50 years old, per the 1976 date on the kit box.

    

Dirigible

 A riff on the first dirigibles. Plastic bottles, paperclips, skewers, mylar sheets, old faucet, pilot from the junk-box.
